When there are many and various meanings --- as there are with 'liberal' and with 'conservative' here --- then any poll needs to specify what it is talking about if it is to produce meaningful answers.

Ask most anyone from Europe what 'liberal' means and they will likely answer 'pro-Capitalist policies'. Ask in Canada you get different meanings, etc. Same with 'conservative' (for example in some places it means the retro-Communists....)
