You are totally confused.

It isn't a free market in bargaining for players. But it absolutely is competing in a free market for entertainment dollars.

I can choose amongst innumerable entertainment options, and baseball is one of them. If the price gets too high, I just do something else. It isn't as though I absolutely must have MLB in my life.

Why don't they charge $1,000/ticket and REALLY get rich?
