DC sniper Muhammad set to die by lethal injection

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The mastermind

I am a proud citizen of Virginia.

We take crime seriously.

When you commit a murder and are sentenced to death we get it carried out quickly (a few years - typically about 3 or 4 years). That is lightning speed in this country.

If Muhammad did his thing in California they would take three years before the trial started, then six months for the trial. And then he would die of old age before they could execute him. (That is not an exaggeration).

Muhammad committed most of his murders in other places than Virginia. However, Maryland and other areas let us take care of the problem since they knew we will get the job done.

Also in Virginia we have truth-in-sentencing. If you are sentenced to 20 years in the pen, then you get 20 years. None of this crap like other states where you are sentenced to 20 years and get paroled in 5 years for good behavior and because they ran out of room in San Quentin.

Virginia also started with the premiere DNA bank. We have been light-years ahead of every state on the system. For years we have taken a DNA sample from every convicted felon and compare it to all DNA crime scene samples. The number of cold hits is astounding.

If you are a criminal best not move to Virginia. Go to California. They will take anybody.
