I think you may be right. I started using AVG soon after it first came out and it was an ace AV program. Small and fast.

Then, I don't know, the usual bad things happened it has become complicated bloatware where it's expected that POS toolbars are loaded and everything. AVG is very close to being permanently dumped by me.

I am in no hurry to upgrade AVG to version 9 at all.
