In order to objectively determine if the God commands rape in the bible all you have to do is read it and objectively evaluate the claim. It's not that hard, really. The fact that you don't believe in the God of the bible or that the bible is the word of God is irrelevant to the question being asked.

The bible claims to be the word of God and is ultimately authoritative in the beliefs and practices of anyone who claims to be a Christian. If you get a note from your wife telling you to bring home some milk, do you say to yourself, "this note is not my wife"? Of course not! Why would you do that with the bible then? BTW; You could always claim that the note from your wife was a forgery but then your wife would be pissed at you when you came home with no milk. How do you think God is going to react?

If you want to read a very good book that deals with the subjects that we have been going around on, then pick up Francis Schaeffer's "HE IS THERE, AND HE IS NOT SILENT". I think you would find it both informative and challenging.
