Avoiding ever communicating with anyone who is not a radical is appeasing the base?

You must have misread. Since Obama gets a lot of grief from his left, appeasing the base is an important strategy. Surely you don't think he has an interest in appeasing the GOP base.

When was the last time you saw soot emanating from a coal plant's smokestack? I am fairly certain it wasn't since President Bush took office.

I didn't argue that it was a good policy, only that is was mainstream, which obviates its being radical. It has been around at least since the Clinton administration--before Obama was around and before wind farms and hybrid cars became feasible or fashionable.

More people are seeing that Obama is a radical every day.

Not until either he stops getting grief from the radicals and progressives or someone here gives me a sound, logical argument will I consider his being radical a real possibility.

The exchange has also strayed mostly off topic.

The thread has been mostly off topic for a few months now. Some folks with a general distaste for Obama showed up with other fish to fry.
