Imagine a central power grid controlled by a federal agency that regulates power delivery at the endpoint itself. They'll shut down some of your appliances during the summer when, for example, Californians are running the air conditioner full blast. Or the winds just aren't blowing across the wind farms T. Boone Pickens wants to build.

Sounds too much like a wacky right-wing conspiracy theory?

Not really........CA tends to exceed capacity during the summer pretty consistently these days, threatening to bring down the entire western grid.

So what would you prefer....having some of your appliances turned off, or the enter western grid collapsing for an extended period of time? I bet the former sounds like socialism to you and the latter good ole capitalism. AMIRITE?
