Here's a novel concept ... build more power plants.

And not just solar and wind that can't sustain itself without government support. We can burn coal without the smog. We can build new nuclear power plants if it weren't for environmentalist wackos. We can even build more hydroelectric dams if it weren't for said wackos.

As for the consumption end, I already said that I have a remotely-controlled shut-off device on my air conditioner. Only problem is that it shuts off when we need it the most, so I changed it to the 20 min on-off cycle instead. Gotta keep the wife happy.
