"Avoiding ever communicating with anyone who is not a radical is appeasing the base?"

You must have misread. Since Obama gets a lot of grief from his left, appeasing the base is an important strategy. Surely you don't think he has an interest in appeasing the GOP base.

You missed the point. You were trying to prove that catching flak from people of his political persuasion was evidence that he is not radical. Your proof lacks merit.

I didn't argue that it was a good policy, only that is was mainstream, which obviates its being radical. It has been around at least since the Clinton administration--before Obama was around and before wind farms and hybrid cars became feasible or fashionable.

But it is not mainstream. It is radical. Only the kooky left wants to shut down coal.

Besides since wind and sun are unreliable what is the kooky left proposing to really charge plug in vehicles? You should know that expanding either coal, petroleum based or nuclear is absolutely required to allow any meaningful utilization of plug in vehicles.

"More people are seeing that Obama is a radical every day."

Not until either he stops getting grief from the radicals and progressives or someone here gives me a sound, logical argument will I consider his being radical a real possibility.

So if I gave him grief for being not liberal enough you would believe that he is a moderate or conservative. Are you that easily fooled?

They are upset because they know he is one of them and they don't see him implementing a radical agenda fast enough. He proclaimed to a ACORN/ SEIU crowd in 2008 that they would have a significant voice in his policies. They do have that voice.
