Very creative on how the Japanese Govt. recovers the high price they are paying the producers of renewable energy.

Incentives for solar power to start
THE ASAHI SHIMBUN
2009/10/31

A system to promote renewable energy that will take effect Sunday allows households and businesses to sell surplus electricity from solar power at double the current rates.

Electric power companies are required to buy the electricity at 48 yen per kilowatt-hour from households and at 24 yen from businesses such as factories.

The companies will recover the increased costs through higher electricity bills during the following fiscal year.

The industry ministry estimates that the monthly addition for a standard household will be about 30 yen in fiscal 2011 and increase to between 50 yen and 100 yen in five to 10 years' time.(IHT/Asahi: October 31,2009)
