Perhaps the FDA should reconsider its acceptance criteria. A drug that's the equal of others should be approved, rather than insisting on improvement. Of course it either needs to at minimum give at least the equal quality of life, and preferably an improved quality of life.

As I understand it, all the drugs that didn't improve on life span did provide a better quality of life for at least some patients. I also believe that some patients do live longer when their cancers are attacked by a variety of drugs, I believe in giving Oncologists as many choices as possible.
