of course it is but the struggle is the leadership of the republican party. they do not want to give up their power. newt, supported those who put up a democrat for the office because she ran under republican ticket. he was counting numbers for congress , i find it hard to believe he thought she would vote other than what she demonstrated in her liberal views. guys like newt kissed people like senator spector's arse and it got them no where. it took the people of pa to say they were fed up with his liberal views. now he will not even get a win with democrats. senator Chaffe in rhode island.. what a joke putting up with him all those years. he did nothing but hurt the republican party while newt thinking kept supporting him. chaffe voted against them. It was better to run someone against him and try to build a republican ,a true republican party in rhode island and pa. and ny...........

if you think we can clean out the old republican leaders from the party and start with new leadership i am for it. my point is i believe a third party candidate has a better chance of winning than locking heads with republican leadership. newt thinking should retire and go to pasture.
