Quantum's 8% short interest should not bother us. Instead of the 11 million short shares now, there were 23 million three months ago. And this is all because people thought the big 2, WDC and SEG would squash out Quantum. Little did people know that in early '98, Quantum would announce that they are the biggest disk drive seller in the world, surpassing SEG. (This is about when it should happen.) Look for there to be less than 3 million by year's end.
