I believe an appropriate dosage is "whatever it takes" to get to the midpoint of the normal range. For me, that's more than the current daily upper limit recommendation of 2000 IUs. So I won't publicly post the number.

Get your serum vitamin D measured, then act appropriately.

I further believe that maintaining adequate D levels may prevent a wide range of ills. I doubt that Vit D will cure anything after the fact. And it's almost a certainty that there'll never be any definitive research proving any of my beliefs.
