footnote of history: this guy, one time director of the Jet Propulsion laboratory at the California Institute of Technology spacedaily.com , was hounded out of the usa domain back in 1955 by the likes of cb ilaine and her fellow travellers - not unlike what early day nazi germany must have been like; in fact at the time the usa pentagon and ilk commented, "rather shoot the guy then let him go" cctv.com

... and the rest became history, starting with the china a-bomb in 1964, just in nicking of time to face off against team usa in 1968 in vietnam and against team ussr in 1969 along the troubled border.

qian deserved a nobel peace prize.

maybe team usa will continue to drive out chinese in silicon valley and boston back to their ancestral land and gift the new sovereign with some additional capital that is not fiat paper in nature :0)

so, you see, altruistically bleeding in mesopotamia so as to bless the new sovereign with cheaper oil, bleeding some more in afghanistan so as to secure middle kingdom some copper, and bleeding a whole lot more so as to deflate everything needed by china and inflate all that china has is not a new endeavor, but a continuing act of kindness ;0)

oh, yes, and to shrivel the russians with cold war and to hobble the japanese by hot trade.

one can hardly hope for a better strategic competitor
