Despite all the research being published, it seems that the % of the North American population that is Vitamin D deficient continues to rise.

I tend to prefer just eating a wide variety of fresh fruits and vegetables to get my vitamins. This doesn't give me enough Vitamin D. Even though I'm outdoors near noon almost every day throughout the year, I still have to take large amounts of D just to stay in the normal range.

I'm not obese; I'm under 65; light skinned; and, in good health. Without a blood test, I'd never have thought that I would be Vit D deficient. There just aren't any symptoms that give a solid indication that action may be required.

Hopefully, I've contributed to others becoming more aware. ... and perhaps motivated a few to get tested.

My next project will be to have DHA recognized as a vitamin. After all, the body doesn't produce it; and, research is showing that it's essential for several vital processes.
