I had forgotten about the grand Rdb to Oracle migration plan. Perhaps that explanation would fly (although I don't think Rdb was ever considered to be a major database force relative to the Oracle-Informix-Sybase triumvirate). Oracle already has consultants trained in doing conversions. It could be a huge opportunity to increase service revenues. Can Oracle integrate the Illustra technology into its server? Will anyone care? Is this speculation any better that the Oracle-Apple rumours? Larry and Steve Jobs were both at the White House for dinner a few days ago... -Michael
