honestly, ARS...the type of behaviour on the tape by the cop is ABUSE of the victim's civil rights...

why should taxpayers pay for that?

this individual (the cop) made a conscious decision to abuse by taser the victim who was in full surrender mode...

a personal story that i am willing to share...

a while back my son went for a drive in my boyfriends sports car after having dinner with us....we had had some wine with dinner, but was by no means intoxicated....the drive occurred HOURS later....my BF was pulled over for not using his 'signal' when he merged in a lane, (this was approximately 11:30 at night)....he was pulled over and the officer said that he smelled 'alcohol' and initiated a field sobriety test...he did the breathalyzer, and the cop said 'merry xmas from the city of 'blank' (he never was shown the test results...it was ultimately proven by blood test that he had zero alcohol in his blood) and proceeded to haul him off to jail....

leaving MY SON on the street, in a strange town (he was a visitor) to fend for himself while he wandered around for HOURS while I and my daughter anguished over what could have happened....

i won't go into the abuses i suffered and my BF suffered at the hands of the cowboy cops...but suffice to say, he spent the night in jail, his blood alcohol level came back at ZERO and eventually all charges were dropped...and i went through untold stress and worry about my son and my BF who had seemingly 'disappeared'

i have told my son i really want him to sue the city for damages for leaving him out in the middle of nowhere while some cowboy cop used this opportunity to arrest an innocent citizen who obviously did not FAIL a breathalyzer...

my son could have been harmed or killed by being left to fend for himself on foot on the streets of this city...i asked, what if it had been my daughter? would you leave her unceremoniously on the road to fend for herself too?

the answer was 'oh no ma'am, we would NEVER leave a young lady on the street....

can we say DISCRIMINATION on the basis of GENDER?

is the life of my son worth LESS than the life of my daughter???

AS IF my son could defend himself against bullets or knives or other means of assault (potentially) while left to fend for himself on a street at 2 a.m. in a strange town

no....

these bastards need to have their heads handed to them...

but in reality, it is WE the citizen/taxpayers who pay the price for their malfeasance..

this needs to stop

only when we hold the perpetrators (rogue cops) who commit these crimes responsible (i'm talking jail time) will this sort of thing stop
