If you want to mess with your co-workers, hang a sign on the copier that says “Due to circumstances beyond our control, the copier is currently working.”

Watch how many people walk up, see the sign and walk away without actually reading it.

I use to leave post-it notes on doors at work that had a sign “Door Is Alarmed”. My note said, “Door looks startled, but not alarmed”. Security was not amused.
