If your son would have been injured or worse it would be near to impossible to prove damages against the cop. The cop was probably jealous of the sports car. There are some good cops to.

I was involved in a case that cost me $50,000 + out of pocket in lawyer costs and the Gov around $100,000 where I got in a little tussle with eight cops. The case was officer driven and they all lied on stand and all the charges were dismissed by the judge last month and yesterday was their last day to appeal.

I even offered to donate $10,000 to a charity of their choice off record rather than continue. Their response was we are going to harass you for the rest of your life. They sought to teach me a lesson but learned one themselves.

You can't win but don't be pushed around. Sue the basterds.
