1995 vs. 1997 1995 was before the internet sprang onto the scene. NSCP IPO'd in August 1995 and throughout the final months of 1995 there was intense worry about MSFT's lack of an "internet strategy". Today Java, DoJ, etc. are providing the required "wall of worry". You have to ask if you believe MSFT was in a stronger global competitive position in 1995 than it is today.
