Don't know if your post was serious or not, but it should be.

If a private insurer denies a claim for a particular treatment the patient at least has recourse. If Medicare denies it, you can appeal it, where in my experience, the prior decision is rubber stamped. There's no one left to talk to. They're not going to pay it.

A private insurance company must take serious the threat of litigation because they know there are a lot of hungry attorneys out there who will come after them. Medicare, you're talking to a machine that just doesn't know or care about such things.
