"don't think it's going to shock anyone to find out that as a Christian; I take seriously the claims contained in the bible that bible is the inspired (God Breathed) word of God. I believe it is true; that the original autographs were without error, and that the transmission from the ancient texts to todays bible is faithful to the original languages."
After all I have done to educate you to the obvious, your confession beggars belief. Science, reason, and logic are apparently to no avail when it comes to religious fanaticism such as the type enjoyed by yourself. I can understand millions of people thoughtlessly adhering to absurd dogmas they have never explored, but IN YOUR CASE I have spent several years putting marvelous essays before you from great and brilliant people such as Robert Ingersoll. I have bombarded you with science and most devastatingly, I have revealed your bible for the primitive, absurd and contradictory nonsense it contains. And now you tell this thread that there are absolutely no arguments that can reach you as a Christian because as a Christian you are absolutely immune to all logic, reason, and arguments because you BELIEVE the bible is Holy and without error.
In other words, IN YOUR CASE, it is a waste of time to point out rapes, genocides, absurdities, contradictions, superstitions, and so forth. Because all criticism of your dogma is NECESSARILY wrong.
Your confession is an absolute eye opener to me. You have placed your "belief" entirely outside of the reach of reason. I am bewildered by this new information and this insight into the mind of a fanatic. I am so disheartened by your confession (and how it reveals the irrationality of all the other fanatics from countless religions throughout history and for (perhaps) centuries to come). All this time I believed you were merely stupid and uninformed--and perhaps very slow to comprehend. I never dreamed you were unteachable...but that is exactly what you confess to being--UNTEACHABLE.
Your confession of intellectual impotence leaves me troubled, sorry, and worried about the future of humanity. |
