Is it? Where was the stimulative effect of the Bush tax cuts when we needed it most?

Apparently you totally misunderstand the economic theories about fiscal stimulus of demand. The stimulative effect on demand (to the extent that fiscal stimulus of any type, spending or taxing works) would be back when we had the tax cuts and then in their near term aftermath, not several years later.

So then, they should have been temporary, not permanent. So you're saying Bush took advantage of Americans' good nature.

The positive effect down the line would be more on the supply side, but that's a longer term issue and doesn't stop the economic cycle, doesn't prevent misinvestment, and generally doesn't prevent recession.

So then, to make you and other conservatives happy, we should be cutting the taxes of the rich even more now even though they never got raised after the last tax cut. Why don't we just cut their taxes to zero and then bend over?
