well, ok, i'm going to come out here and state a totally un-PC remark wrt 'treatment' for soldiers having experienced the ,well, how shall we say....horrors of WAR?
the idea that we need combat 'stress' teams, counselors for soldiers returning from *WAR* indicates to me that we are looking at 'social medicine' type of military that is nothing more than a social experiment 'proving ground' for psych/social experimentation
and our troops are the guinea pigs (and i don't even want to go into the 'enemy sympathizer' counseler mentality...it is beyond comprehension...truly political 'correctness' run amok)
bottom line is *war is hell*
if you don't expect hell as a result of being a 'warrior' then you are in the wrong 'business' and make no mistake, enlistees are in a BUSINESS (in today's military)....they enlist because the bennies given by the u.s. gov....are there to entice enlistment...there are exceptions of course, (see pat tillman)
but, well.... guess what?
if you enlist, there is the *chance* you will actually be called upon to serve in WAR....it's not all about heath care, education and housing benefits....and IF it that is the motive, then frankly i don't care if you 'suffer' due to the hellish nature of war...YOU signed up for it
our military should not be a social welfare 'experiment' by which we create a laboratory to engender enlistees anxious for military benefits but unwilling to endure the hell of war
i mean, what KIND of ARMY do we have when we cannot actually have military carrying WEAPONS but instead, farm out the 'security' of the post/base to private contractors?
what are we paying these enlistees to do? they are incapable or unable to patrol their own?
how f'd up is that? |
