Teachers, tenure, unions - that could be a discussion that would go on forever. My teacher friends are all leftist union supporters and I can understand why. One friend I've known for 40 years just retired from teaching in California. She taught 9th grade algebra. She acquired 5 masters because with every degree, she got a bigger salary. She finally managed to work up to $96,000 a year. And she retired with full benefits - that means she gets $96,000 a year in retirement and full health benefits. Anyone wonder why California is broke?
