My Netbook is an Acer Aspire One. I like it very much. I also considered an HP netbook but decided I liked the keyboard on the Acer better.

I looked at the Acer at both Walmart and Costco. They seemed to be functionally identical except for color. The model offered by Costco had an eight hour battery while the one at Walmart was only 3.5 hours. I paid the extra at Costco to get the additional life.

I previously had purchased an Acer bundle at Costco for $399, which included a portable DVD, a wireless mouse, and a slipcase. The DVD did not work properly. I spent a lot of time trying to get it to work and ultimately decided to take it back to Costco. I walked out with the Acer Aspire that was the same functionally but had an eight hour battery instead of the 5.5 hour battery that came in the bundle. Then I went to Best Buy and got a portable DVD and a wireless mouse. Both worked perfectly. I ended up paying about $35 more total, but it was worth it. I still don't have a slip case, but have a work-around that works better anyway.
