I think that Orthodyne Electronics has by far the best large wire bonder (above 5 mil). They have about 75% of this market and KLIC doesn't stand a chance on it's own there. A benefit KLIC has is it's diversity, ie you can purchase a complete range of equipment which tends to reduce cost of ownership for a factory line. Also it's size is a plus.

Alphasem on the other hand has some fine products, yet a little tricky to maintain in a production environment.

As for Shinkawa and Kajo, they are little potatoes even though the low cost of their no thrils equipent makes for very large sales, particularly to the Japanese clients. I was not too impressed with their equipment (wire bonders I mean). Just my 2 cents.
