Blah, blah, blah....it seems to me that you can't back up your cheap shot and are now parsing and nuancing. It's far more likely that both political sides are trying to manage having to deal with these threats without alienating the moderate majorities, which is what the smart play does. Your claim is little more than partisan sideline QB'ing.

Both need to be done. 1. Lure away the moderates from extremists, and 2. crack down hard on the extremists.

The Political Correctness does not help you with 1. and makes 2. cracking down on extremists next to impossible.

Getting this Hassan guy out of military alltogether, or at least from contact with fragile, returning servicemen would have been possible if he was not a member of the untouchable class...
