Yes, it's only guys like you and Hawk who are hoping that our grandchildren won't need to take on fanatics, the rest of us must be hoping that our progeny will be fighting wars forever.

It must be nice to see things so simplistically that you can envision the one way to win an ideological battle, no matter that the way you see things has been so often proven unwieldy, bloody and mostly impossible.

I hope those ironclad assumptions carry you through the months and years that your young son is in harm's way.

Let me conclude by posting, very seriously, that I wish him all the luck in the world and hope that he makes it mentally and physically intact through whatever he has to endure. Ed
