The rest walked, used public transit, or animals. When oil hit $147/barrel, traffic jams declined by as much as 25% in major urban centers. Mass transit systems approached overload. At $200/barrel we can expect accelerated decline in use of private transportation. When can we expect $200 crude? Give it 5 years. 10 years, maybe less for $300 crude.
