I was a college hippie in the 60's in San Fransicco like Wharfrat. Wharfrat and I talk a lot about those days. All the hippies were involved in the civil rights movement.

Civil rights and the Viet Nam war were big deals. IN fact my ex made the front page of the san Jose Mercury for our protesting our football team playing Bringham YOung because they still had that racist policy considering blacks as children of Cain and not fit for the top positions of the church.

So we protested playing them because of their blatant racism. A few years later as the heat got to be too much for the mormon church their leadr had a visit from god and he changed plicy (1973 I think), so now blacks can rise to the top leadeships rung. They don't actually get there though, or women.
