Daley is not dense at all, he is King. And the people here like it that way, obviously. In fact I have had conversations with Northwestern University professors in social settings where the only reason my anti big government views were even given a perfunctory consideration was that I agreed that Chicago functions reasonably well. As long as I bowed in the direction of Daley and said some code word mumbo jumbo I was not dismissed out of hand. That has happened more than once. A little "move along shuffle, side to side" as it were.
