Wind Turbine

Wind carries tremendous power within itself. The energy from wind is formed by the conversion of kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical energy. This mechanical energy is used to run the wind turbines. The wind turbines have blades that are connected a drive shaft that turns an electric generator to produce electricity. Wind energy systems have been in use since the 20th century.

Wind turbines, used in wind farms for commercial production of electric power, are usually three-bladed and pointed into the wind by computer-controlled motors. These turbines have tip speed of six times the wind speed, high efficiency, and low torque ripple, which contribute to good reliability. There are many other new technologies which have made the wind turbine investment, worthwhile.
