The World Series of Poker Main Event ended and the two favorites lost fairly early. Phil Ivey, "The Best Player In The World," won $1.4 million in 7th place. I like the way Ivey plays, but he was way over-hyped by the media. Jeff Schulman, who works for his daddy's "Card Player" magazine, was the only player who'd been at the final table before. He promised to throw his bracelet in a dumpster if he won the event. "Card Player" is mad at Harrah's. He finished 5th, despite being coached by Poker Brat Phil Helmuth. He pocketed $1.9 million.

Crowd favorite, Darvin Moon, got second and over $5 million. He kept saying that he was not a great poker player but was getting lucky all the time. He was definitely lucky a lot, but he could play well, too.

Joseph Cada, whom I'd never heard of, won and pocketed $8.5 million. I've been told I once played against him on Poker Stars, but I don't remember it.
