The tech industry reliably decreases costs every year, while offering more value for the buck. EVERY truly competitive, market oriented industry brings costs down and increases benefits over time. It is the hallmark of a free market. The symptoms of a non-free market is continually rising costs and decreasing benefits. If you don't understand this, then you need to go back to school and learn economics. This is part of the problem with extremist rightwingers. They shout about the need for free markets and yet they don't understand the first thing about them.

As far as the GOP being cut out of the process, yes because that's how they choose to play. The Dems have bent over backwards trying to get GOP support, but the GOP is acting like a spoiled baby. At the end of the day, the people voted for the Dems because they had better ideas than the GOP. What the Dems should do is just force their legislation through, just like the GOP did for the first 6 years under Bush. The falling Dem poll numbers are happening precisely because the Dems are kowtowing to the GOP and dithering over passing the legislation that we voted for.

I'll tell you right now, I'm pissed as hell that they are focusing on health care right now instead of renewable energy legislation. They should have tackled renewable energy FIRST and then tackled health care in Obama's second term. That would have been a much better strategy.
