Thank you. since he has gotten into this thing of putting vet markers out for his ancesters, he has decided he wants one, too. i have to look into that so we are ready when the, hopefully distant, day comes. and I guess he wants the flag.

It is interesting to me that he has expressed this interest. like most vets, I guess, he never will talk of it. he had a rifle he had taken from a Japenese in the Phillipines that when we moved from Bakersfield when I was 13, he let the moving man have... I saw the moving man with it, tho, and the guy was really impressed with it and dad sent me from the garage to talk with him alone. and he still has a short sword he took that hangs by his desk.

according to him, he just fixed trucks back at camp. as a child I would ask him... "uhm, so how'd you get that short sword?". no answer.
