No, you just walk in the door. Doctors from the hospitals rotate covering it. I've been there a few times and the care is excellent. the cost of running a private practice is abated.
no appointment stuff, you walk in and wait however long... around here it is not long. they save the cost of ER people, and what private docs on their own pay. it just makes so much sense. they tried clinics in a couple of tiny towns up the road that didn't work out, but population too small, plus if you are going for the flu or poison ivy or such, you can drive 20 miles, so space them out in that way to draw the population size.
