Is anybody as far as AMD (besides Intel) in process engineering and mass manufacture? If not, then being able to go beyond GF is not much of an asset. On the up side, Bulldozer and Bobcat are more interesting with the new details, the compiler clause puts things on level ground, moving break even down (as I have been harping ad nausem) is wonderful, but I think some folks are over selling AMD being able to go to other fabs. GF is the only way to go for some time. Just AMD using anyone else, unless it has an atom like design that could work on a less advanced process. If you wanted more capacity, then that's what Chartered was for. Smaller geometries mean less need for more fabs anyway.
