Ted, > What happened to its fabs? The Dresden fabs etc? They got spun off into a new venture called GlobalFoundries. Funded in large part by Abu Dhabi, they're going to make themselves a foundry operation like TSMC. AMD had to do this because they could no longer afford to own, operate, and build their own fabs.
