Lou Dobbs has quit/been fired. I have not been a fan, going way back to when he did the business news. Part of my dislike was unfair. I didn't like Lou's smirk, and a guy cannot always control his facial ticks. And, since his stroke or whatever happened to give him that speech defect, I haven't liked listening to him. I actually take offense when Keith Olberman makes fun of his voice.

That being said, I agree with him on several subjects. I think illegal immigrants are not a good thing. I do not believe that pounding on the poorest and most desperate is the entire solution. What about the companies and individuals who hire those they know are in this country illegally? Lou didn't talk as much about them, as many are sponsors of his network.

Being an Obama birther is simply stupid and Dobbs was not really stupid. He did think his audience was.

I think he is in denial right now. At the height of the Xenophobia thing, some folks were calling for Dobbs to run for the Senate. The number of those people has now shrunk to a figure approaching zero, but I think Dobbs believes the support is still there.

However, it would be fun to see him get into politics. A Palin/Dobbs ticket would get lots of attention from The Daily Show and SNL and the other late night comics.

When CNN announced that he was going to be replaced by a guy named King, I thought it was the old coot who interviews celebrities. But it's another guy.

I do like Campbell Brown on CNN. She's great. Her show is dull because it is an opinion show that doesn't want to take sides. Yawn! At least we can watch Hannity and be entertained as they fake protest footage to make it look like there were more protestors at a rally. Brown doesn't seem to want to fake the news to make mouth breathers go "ooh" and "ahh." Poor girl probably won't last long.

BTW, when Hannity got caught faking the news by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, why did he apologize to Stewart and not to the dummies who think he's reporting real news?

And the funniest thing on the fake news front is Miracle Whip taking on Stephen Colbert for being a fan of regular Mayonaise. Their ads on every ad break on The Colbert Report were funnier than the show itself. And Colbert's reply that he appreciated the ad revenues, because the money allowed him to buy more mayonaise, was also a hoot.
