I didn't say it was US responsibility to restore the monarchy. The US went into Afghanistan uninvited. They drove out the Taliban which from an Afghani's point of view is not a bad thing. Now they just cannot walk away and expose those folks to the retaliation from the Taliban. There are many Afghanis who sided with the US military as informants etc. The US needs to keep their safety and their familys' safety in mind. The mornarchy still continues to be the unifying force.
