Obama has made some right moves in the past few days. They include convening a jobs summit, something that Bill Clinton did even before being sworn in. Now he is looking to trim the deficit after having given the economy a good deal of oxygen to survive. This budget trimming may also be some incentive for Senate Blue Dogs and Republicans particularly Lieberman, to support the health care bill. It seems he is not leaning on sending additional troops to Afghanistan.
