I've made a few of those myself. Let's hope Mr. Market lets you get out of those calls without too much of a spanking.


Thanks for your good wishes, Mr. Market turned kind for once. I ended up with a very nice 30% return. My reasoning was wrong but the market apparently thought the Samsung agreement trumped sorry earnings and disappointing guidance. Sometimes its better to be lucky than smart.

Back to covered puts and calls. Buying calls is too risky and requires too much timing for my tastes.
