I see that you are against vaccinations and that is a respectable position, but I personally am troubled that a government makes up its mind for an entire population about whether they can receive the vaccine or not. In most countries, the government provides the swine flu vaccine, and its up to the people if they want to get vaccinated. That's called freedom. There's plenty of information out there for people to make up their own minds about getting vaccinated against the swine flu, instead of letting "big brother" government decide for them.
Who knows the real reason why Poland has decided against buying the swine flu vaccine? They can't afford it in these tough economic times? The drug companies wouldn't pay the proper kickbacks to government officials? Let the people of Poland decide what is right for them and what they can afford and what chances they want to take.
As much as I'd like to see everyone in the U.S. have government medical coverage, I have to say that seeing how the swine flu vaccination has played out in Canada this fall makes me very wary of putting our health system under government control. Canadians can only get the vaccine from one drug manufacturer via shots provided by their government. For some bizarre reason, probably not so bizarre but more mundane like financial pressures on the public Canadian health system, the Canadian government is not providing a thermisol (mercury) free version of the swine flu vaccine to its citizens, even for the very young and pregnant who should definitely not get thermisol vaccines. Luckily in the U.S. we have the choice to get thermisol free vaccinations, although the supply is limited. Thermisol free vaccinations are only a few dollars more expensive than the heavy metal version. Not adopting thermisol free vaccines is a financial decision by governments and insurance companies. A good example of where costs are put ahead of the public health/good. In Canada, it is the federal government looking to save money for their health system. In the U.S., it is private insurance companies looking to boost profits by paying less for vaccines, but at least we can get the thermisol free version. It is available.
