It was wrong for us to go into Afghanistan in the first place. We did it out of revenge........never a good reason to start a war. We were supposed to capture bin Laden.....for whatever reason that never happened. Since then, we've made a mess of things and allowed the Taliban to regain the country. Why did the Afghan people not fight to keep the Taliban from regaining control like they are doing in Pakistan? In fact they don't seem to care. What is the truth here? Why do we think we know what's best for a people who few of us know? I say.....don't perpetuate a bad thing. Set a date for leaving and stick to it. Naturally give Karzai some time to get his act together and then be done with it.

Frankly, I am not going to let a stink hole like Afghanistan bring my country down. That's ridiculous.

I didn't say it was US responsibility to restore the monarchy. The US went into Afghanistan uninvited. They drove out the Taliban which from an Afghani's point of view is not a bad thing. Now they just cannot walk away and expose those folks to the retaliation from the Taliban. There are many Afghanis who sided with the US military as informants etc. The US needs to keep their safety and their familys' safety in mind.

The mornarchy still continues to be the unifying force
