Well, he published 'A Question of Torture' in January 2006, so he was aware of the rot since at least 2005 and presumably before. amazon.com I think the problem was more the total abdication of the press and media ... Perhaps at first partly out of cowardice in the cheese-eating surrender monkey days -- remember how totally insane the political environment was back then -- but largely by corporate design ... they own America, and they like things this way. Whatever the case, it's all fubar now ...
