Civilian law sets a higher bar. We're doing the responsible thing. Responsible? It is totally irresponsible. You allow the trial to be used to gin up anti-American sentiment (pretty much like releasing the Abu Ghraib photos, which of course, resulted in American lives being lost). As this sordid bullshit is broadcast, via al Jazeera, all over the ME, you give him a platform for expressing anti-American hatred. And you make America look foolish in the eyes of the enemy, who will simply use this to its substantial advantage. It is among the more incompetent actions the president has taken (and that's saying a lot). A "high bar" should be reserved for those who aren't engaged in a war against us. Explain how convolution of the legal process (which doesn't normally try enemy soldiers in our criminal courts) is in our national interest?
