the selling from $28 to $23 has been very light on the macd compared to the drop from $45. buying was heavy on cymi's rise from $23 to $45, so the selling recently from $28 to $23 shows the comparative lowest measure of any period yet. i don't know how much influence cabot holds over the shareholders of cymer. my guess is that those who took cabot's advise and bought cymer already sold it for a profit and most people who trade with cabot don't hold a stock all the way through as he does, they day trade his stocks. only cabot makes the claim to hold his stocks until the cows come home. if you recall last year cabot sent out a letter to his money management clients asking if they wanted to sell "just a little presstek" when it was floating in the split adjusted $80 to $90 range, up from $20 earlier. at the same time he was advising his newsletter patrons to "buy just a little presstek at these levels". THE SEC FINED CABOT HERITAGE CORPORATION $25,000 FOR DOING THIS. and they slapped their hands and told them to go to bed early. point is, carlton lutts follows a chart and may not be the nice guy you thought he was.
