"Every time the Republicans talk about the time they want for health care I keep wondering why people do not say: :what about the last eigth years?"

Because it wasn't at the top of the agenda for the last administration. Now that it has been put at the top by our current leadership, we need to get it right, which has not been done by the current bills being considered.

In addition to not being able to afford this, it is just going to cost everyone more money and diminish services. I dont regard this as reform.

From SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management)

"US Employers say they'll pass along health care reform added costs.

US employers say that they will not absorb any additional costs from health care reform and plan to:
1. Reduce Benefits (87%)
2. Raise prices to customers (38%)
3. Cut head count (30%)

This is according to a survey by consulting firm Towers Perrin with HR and Benefits executives from mid-size and large US orgs."

So in addition to most likely not reducing costs and degrading our healthcare, the current govt plans being considered will cause people to lose their jobs and benefits and increase prices of goods they buy.

And to throw divisive issues like abortion only exacerbate the problem.

It would be nice of our leadership in both parties to throw away the politics and special interests and see if they really can improve the current system by expanding coverage and reducing costs for the people. I guess I am just an idealist.

Regards

Neil
